Reminder: Live 8 concerts
If you are reading this post on Saturday, you shouldn't be. The Live 8 concerts have been going on for a few hours now and there has been some tremendous music on display already. I suppose there is at least one TV channel in every country around the world showing the concerts live. In the U.S., VH1 and MTV have been showing the concerts live from 12 pm EST. But in case you'd rather watch all the global feeds in real time, head over to live8live and choose between a global feed, a London feed, a Philly feed, a Rome feed, a Toronto feed, a Paris feed or a Berlin feed. For me (and I am guessing for most people), the highlight of the show will certainly be the reunification of Pink Floyd.
No matter how skeptical you are about what these concerts can achieve in reality, do not miss the opportunity to see some terrific music. If, as Sir Bob thinks, these concerts can provide solutions to the problems of under-development and poverty in Africa, that'll be quite the bonus.
