Mugabe targets dogs

Global Voices points to a post at This is Zimbabwe which reveals the depths to which the Mugabe regime has sunk. Not satisfied with merely destroying the houses and livelihoods of people, without offering them any sort of alternative housing or employment, Mugabe has now started targetting pet dogs. Clearly, the idea is to traumatize and mentally abuse people some more.
The police/army/green bombers/youth militia or whatever they are, have been going door to door in the residential suburbs (of Harare) and demanding to see people's dog licences. Apparently if the licences cannot be produced immediately, the domestic pets are shot dead, there and then.

Mugabe has clearly lost his marbles, assuming he ever had them, in the first place. This is the SOB that India used to fete as a revolutionary hero during the glory days of the Non-Aligned Movement. I don't want to diss the Indian govt alone here. It also highlights the problem with Mr. Bush's argument that he's all for freedom and democracy around the world. Except when it comes to Zimbabwe, Burma and all those other countries under dictatorial regimes, but without oil, I guess.
