More NYT on class

Amit had posted a link to the first NYT special on class in America. Since then, the Times has published the second, third and fourth parts in the series and it continues to be as fascinating a read as the first installment. The second part addresses health differences, the third part looks at marriage between the classes and the fourth part examines the role of religion. You can also access the entire series here. But do read it. It will in all probability be a front runner for the Pulitzers.

While you're on the NYT website, have a look at the terrific story by Tim Golden on the death of Afghan prisoners (who were being interrogated) at the Bagram base in Afghanistan. It's a chilling story and seems very likely to become yet another Abu Ghraib-type embarassment for the U.S. military.
